Donald “Don” Lee Tabor, at age 87, our precious dad left this earth surrounded by a room full of loved ones who cherished him deeply on December 16, 2025. Don was born August 26, 1938, to Ora and Tommie Tabor in Scottsville, Kentucky, the youngest of five children.
Don built a remarkable career as a master carpenter with R.L. Turner Corporation, dedicating over 40 years to his craft. His hands shaped countless homes and buildings.,
Don honorably served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1960. He was a “constant” at his daughter’s and grandchildren’s events displaying his competitive nature. Don also was lovingly known by family members as “Mr. Dependable.”
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by beloved wife of 52 years, Cheri (Hinderliter) Tabor; and five older siblings.
Survivors include his four daughters, Ronda (Jack) Orebaugh, Robin Miller, Dena (Scott) Price and Holli Moore; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 6-8:30 pm in the Interurban Depot, 401 South Vine Street, Plainfield, Indiana.
